This wonderful set of 2 Ammonite decorative sculptures with an antique brass finish represents fossils of the Perisphinctes species. Ammonites were prehistoric marine animals with a spiral-shaped shell. They became extinct at the end of the Cretaceous period, approximately 66 million years ago, around the same time as the extinction of dinosaurs. Each object is mounted on a gray marble base.
